Descriptive text
- Is a text which says what a person or a thing is like.- The purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place or thing.
Generic Structure
- Identification (it is a part of paragraph which introduces or identifies the character or phenomenon)
- Description (it is a part of paragraph which describes the character, part, qualities, etc)
Narrative Text
- Is a text which contains about story fiction, non fiction, tales, folktales, fables, myths, epic and its plot consists of climax of the story then followed by the resolution.- The purpose of the text is to amuse, entertain and deal with actual or vicarious experience in different ways.
Generic Structure
- Orientation (sets the scene and introduces the participants)
- Complication ( a crisis arises)
- Resolution (the crisis is resolved, for the better or for worse)
- Re-orientation (optional)
- Evaluation (a stepping back to evaluate the plight)
Expository Text
- Is a text that tells you facts about an event are how to do something, it also can give insight.- The purpose is to inform the reader of an event or pfovide general information.
There are 5 types of Expository Text
- Sequences or time order
- Listing
- Compare and Contrast
- Cause and Effect
- Problem-Solution
